FORTNITE is a 3rd person action building game for many platforms. Unreal Engine 4 supports the gameplay and Epic games are the creators. You and your friends battle for homeland and victory on land shrouded by darkness known as "the storm." You band together building forts(building is a core mechanic) and finding weapons and other objects/gadgets to win against the other team/person while avoiding the storm that will cause death after intoxicating your lungs depleting your life. To build forts players use there pickaxe to break down buildings, trees, cars, walls, etc to collect brick, wood or metal. There are two different modes Online and offline. Offline is against monters that emerge from "the storm." Mankind was wiped out and now you and friends have to take down the baddies and give mankind a fighting chance.
Online consists of 100 players simultaneously in matchmaking. Online has different modes, these modes are: solo, duos, squads, 50vs50. You start in a battle bus then leap out and skydive onto a massive island with tons of loot to find to help aide you fighting for the victory. Now the trajectory of the battle bus changes but everywhere on the island is accessible from the battle bus for your choosing. The group or player(s) left standing is awarded a Victory Royale. Battle Royale locations include: Dusty Divot, Fatal Fields, FLush Factory, Greasy Grove, Haunted Hills, Junk Junction, Lazy Links, Lonely Lodge, Loot Lake, Lucky Landing, Paradise Palms, Pleasant Park, Reail Row, Risky Reels, Salty Springs, Shifty Shafts, Snobby Shores, Tilted Towers, Tomato Town, and Wailing Woods.
ITEMS include:
EXPLOSIVES: clinger, grenade, remote explosives, stink bombs
UTILITY: boogie bomb, port a fort, impulsive grenade
HEALING ITEMS: apple, bandages, cake slice, chug jug, medkit, mushroom, slurp juice, small shield potion, shield potion
VEHICLES: shopping kart, ATK
TRAPS: bouncer trap, cozy campfire, damage trap, launch pad
OTHER: bush, glider
LIMITED TIME ITEMS: jetpack, infinity gauntlet
WEAPONS INCLUDE:
ASSAULT RIFLES: thermal scoped assualt rifle, scoped assualt rifle, assault rifle, burst assault rifle
MACHINE GUNS: minigun, light machine gun
SUBMACHINE GUNS: drum gun, suppressed submachine gun, submachine gun, compact SMG
PISTOLS: hand cannon, revolver, dual pistols, suppressed pistol, pistol
SHOTGUNS: heavy shotgun, pump shotgun, tactical shotgun
SNIPER RIFLES: bolt action sniper rifle, semi auto sniper rifle, hunting rifle
LAUNCHERS: rocket launchers, grenade launcher
