Original description:

This was to be a walkthrough until I decided that doing this is pointless since there are so many walkthroughs of AO out there. Instead this will simply be a quality demo of Frapsing AO - Even if YouTube loves to corrupt my vids for some reason.

Getting Fraps to register AO and AE is a little complex. I used my old 17" TFT monitor for this - Not sure if you can make a widescreen monitor run at 1280x1024 or make Fraps capture only a defined square area of the screen.

You have to use DxWind (freeware, search for it) and play around with it's config to make it run AO at your desktop resolution without a border. If you've got a widescreen, you may have to change the aspect ratio of your footage when you edit the video later. You'll notice that AO probably won't be centered on the sceen when you run it through DX Wind - You have to alt+tab back Into windows, then right click the taskbar to bring up the taskbar settings, then check the "hide" button. This will centre Abe's Oddysee's window on your screen (weird I know). Set up Fraps to record the desktop (Monitor Aero Desktop), and away you go."
