I hope you enjoy some of these tips that I share within this tutorial video. This video is my journey from being an absolute beginner to Red Dead Redemption to finally achieving rank 50 to unlock the coveted Slippery Bastard ability card, all as a free-aim player pre 1.0x patches!

I am a 100% free-aim player. I didn’t even play with auto-aim in the Red Dead single campaign, either! Having played Grand Theft Auto 5 for the last 2-3 years strictly as a free-aim player I did not wish to lose my muscle memory and prowess for when Red Dead Redemption Online (RDO) arrived. Unfortunately (some might say), RDO beta failed to have dedicated free-aim lobbies. For me, this means that as it currently stands for RDO, 99% of all players I face are “Agent Smith Auto Aim Bots”. Especially before the 1.06 patch arrived, this game was an absolute killing field if you were a dedicated free-aim masochist. Though many players hated the patch, I for one was grateful because it bought me 2 milliseconds more to stand a chance against the auto aimers.

As future videos will show, those extra milliseconds was all I needed. It bought me time to truly start experimenting with what works and doesn’t work. Adapting for animation times, loading times, weapon changing delays and a lot more.
