This is the fourth mission of the Cardinal Spear campaign for the Freespace Port, first developed in 1999 as a mod for the original Descent: Freespace. It is 2331, the height of the Terran-Vasudan War. We occupy the role of a new pilot assigned to the GTD Agamemnon's aggressor squadron. Galactic Terran Intelligence has been deceived; there is no subspace node to Vasuda Prime in Talania. However, there is a node to Vega, which houses the Parliamentary Vasudan Empire's primary shipyard of Ta'chirik Ma'ang. Most of the fleet assigned to Operation Cardinal Spear has pushed on to Vega, but the GTD Agamemnon and a task force of cruisers from the 3rd and 5th fleets are staying behind to engage Vasudan forces in Talania and prevent them from noticing the larger force slipping into Vega. Our squadron will fly cover for the fleet engagement against the Vasudan forces in orbit of Talania VI, flying experimental Hercules class fighters.
