Gladiator's Shield will receive a buff in the upcoming Loki rework Smite Patch 7.10. This buff is drastic, as it makes Glad Shield scale with the protections from items you build and your character has from abilities. This may make Gladiators Shield a meta item for ability-based solo laners, especially Cu Chulainn and King Arthur. In the Cu Chulainn gameplay, we're giving it a try on PTS and also throw in Mystical Mail and Heartseeker for an extra dose of yellow damage.
