Frozen Synapse Playthrough - 01 - Nashar: Incursion
So, starting a thing. Not a game I can easily rehearse, seeing as how its maps are procedurally generated and the AI is pretty decent.
The loading times while recording can be terrible. I'll see if I can set up a link in the corner to skip the load times in the video. I didn't want to edit it out of the video itself because the music for this game is so awesome. Also, I missed this out for the first few maps, but I'll be showing a recap of all the turns at the end of the video.
-=Story=-
Set in the futuristic city of Markov Geist, Frozen Synapse has a large backstory that I'll do my best to recap here. Basically, a virtual-reality system called the Shape was created, and with them AIs called Shapeforms. A large corporation known as Enyo:Nomad (CEO named Nimitz Shand), with the help of a Shapeform called Charon's Palm, predicted elections and the stock market to such a degree that they effectively took control of the city and now corruptly control all of its information, while being generally loved by the public.
Now, Markov Geist is quite a contrast. The central district, Cortica, has a beautiful, utopian design, while the downtown areas, Torpor, is a run-down mess. Graham Nix, formerly a partner of Shand's, became so disgusted by such a corrupt, centralized power that he not only splintered off from the corporation, but is leading a militant resistance against it known as Petrov's Shard.
Most combat is handled by clone soldiers called Vatforms; ugly and not too bright, but very strong and sturdy. These are usually controlled in combat through a connection to a tactician via the Shape. You play one such tactician by the name of Tactics.
We're currently trying to bust into an Enyo:Nomad facility at Nashar to extract a double-agent working within Enyo:Nomad for Petrov's Shard.
