For an open-world game, Horizon Zero Dawn has some rather weird and strange ideas for placement when it comes to your first steps into said open world. High-level enemy zones literally to the right of your exit, resource-heavy and specific gear-needing trials a ways to the left, and a story/main quest direction that makes you skip a bit of the map and also takes you well beyond some spots which still then requires backtracking again. Order some french fries because we'll be having some salt to go with them in this one.
