(FTL Multiverse v5.3.x + MV Addons) (8/28/23 #2) Elevated Flagship "C" (Forgotten Races) [TehNecr0]
5With the Chaos Tartarus unlocks out of the way, I felt it was time to use some of the ships that were unlocked already. This beast of a flagship has incredibly high offensive power with both its starting weapon and the Artillery systems. What's more, you start with both Tully and Vance as crew, giving you an extra 10% evasion right off the bat provided you keep them manning Piloting and Engines.
Good thing about it during the early game is the incredibly powerful laser weapon you start with: a modified Heavy III with double crew damage as well as various status effects. This can stay with the ship for the entire run due to its crew killing capabilities and serve as means of crew killing essential encounters during later parts of the run.
Biggest downside of this ship is not the lower hull integrity compared to other flagships, but the fact that you only have room for a single additional system, along with having only Engines and Weapons as the only essential systems. With room for only one additional system, many who play this ship will look towards getting Shields as its innate super shield can only protect you for so long and doesn't provide defense against non-beam that damage only systems or crew. That being said, unless you decided to opt for medical systems, your only means of healing crew outside Medical Bombs and Medics is Vance and his very slow healing passive (to crew other than himself).
Unless you purchase Shields, your biggest threats are drones, particularly beam drones due them being effective against super shields in general Pestilence drones in debuff mode (laser) due to the shotgun nature of their firing. This is followed by Particle weaponry since they also have a chance to start fires on the ship and energy cannons that fire multiple shots as they deal both hull and ion damage to them.
That being said, getting your Artillery systems up and running will ensure even the most durable of ships will fall apart.
