Denis Cruse parachuted into northern France in the early hours of 6th June 1944. He and his comrades landed behind enemy lines 6 hours before the D-Day sea-borne assault. Their mission was to capture bridges – including Pegasus – and stop the Germans using them to bring in re-enforcements to the Normandy beaches. Now, a man who saw so much action during his early years has had a heartfelt send off.
