FWSim 3.5 Beta [4K] - Stacking test
I think the 4K version of the smoke isn't as good as the 1080p one, because it looks too bright and "sparkly" rather than "cloudy". Maybe they will fix this issue...
Many times I find myself in trouble because of layering issues of fireworks. It turns out that working with Japanese sizes is more helpful to laying "stacks" of fireworks vertically. This technique can be used to create crescendos or just to carefully direct the eye. For example having a barrage of small 2-sizes shells (56mm) to focus the audience on the lower level, then using some 4-size (114mm, the largest shells in this video) with an ascent trail to build up the expectations and just with a couple of them, making the spectators look in awe. I think understanding these mechanics is a key point in firework show productions, so I will look more into it.
