I got a chance to ride a preview the Galactic Attack roller coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Pretty neat, it looks like you are on a spaceship, and you control a turret by moving your head. It's Samsung Gear VR, so it isn't as sharp as an Oculus Rift, or a Vive, but it also doesn't need a $2000 PC to run it, so it fits on your head.

I thing it would work just as well if it were just a 3D movie, I don't think it needed the turret. Also, it would work better on a smoother coaster, the "Kong" coaster it is based on really rattled your head (and thus, your view) around. Still, a really cool concept that has a lot of promise.

I wish you could see what we are seeing (I'm the smaller guy with the beard) but there was no way to synch that video. Check my next upload for a sample of what it looks like.
