So the Elgato Game Capture HD has a built-in Live Commentary feature. A few things I've found out by experimenting:
-It automatically lowers the game audio if you check the option, but only while you're talking. This means the game audio comes back at full volume every time I stop talking, which could sound awkward.
-The commentary can get cut off early. I'll have to take steps to avoid this.
-I've experimented with lowering my mic volume for the later part of the video, to see if that sounds better. If not, then I'll try putting the in-game audio on low by default and not lowering game audio while I speak.
