Game Design: Beginnings
25Hello, everyone! I'm Cole from The Kingdom, and today we're talking about how games open and begin. We look at some significant examples and discuss how good a job they did. What a game opening needs to accomplish largely depends on what kind of game it is, so there's no perfect formula across all games - it's pretty much a case by case basis. But generally, game beginnings should have strong, HONEST promises for what the rest of the game holds, and hook the player with what makes it unique.
