The original Game Boy, the revolutionary hand-held 8-bit console released April 21, 1989, sold over 118 million consoles worldwide.
This brand new IPS kit comes with a new PCB to replace the entire front PCB. A brand new IPS screen of the exact same original resolution as the Game Boy original screen.
The kit comes pre-built with a bracket, assembled together, and a new speaker pre-soldered to the board. Only 3 small simple cuts to your front shell are needed and then the screen sits in place. Skill level 1!

Cut 2 stumps and one tab from top of front shell, one tab from the back contrast wheel area, and the stump behind the battery compartment

Remove screen protector carefully and slowly (screen is only lightly stuck to bracket so be careful not to pull it away from support bracket)

Put screen assembly in front shell, using the two holes to locate and lock into position

Insert D-Pad, A, B and rubbers then place new screen PCB on top and screw into place

Lift black tab, insert small ribbon from screen into PCB then push down black tab

Insert big ribbon into PCB (very firm to insert)

Insert other end of big ribbon into back of console

Enjoy!

The perfect upgrade for your original Game Boy. Super bright, ultra sharp and adjustable backlight and color maps.
Press the contrast wheel to toggle color modes from greyscale to yellows, reds, blues and various other color schemes. Turning your original Game Boy into a color!
Scroll the contrast wheel to adjust the backlight.
