Thoughts About Game:
Gacha/Gambling, Waifus & Husbandos, (and maybe FOMO)
with that you should know it's either grind or pay for convenience system,
I hate gacha/gambling and I suggest everyone to not get into.
This game is well known and you might have already heard it's name,
I have played genshin in past and I played it hard core but left it about a year ago,
Game looks good and it's fighting mechanics are unique and good,
but the whole development is focused on gacha system and maybe farming simps,
story was the reason I stuck with it for long but as you progress in story dialogues get bigger and bigger and complicated with lots of extra details,
it was good till finishing Inazuma but then Sumeru came where dialogues size doubled,
If you are f2p or very low spender then you have to play it daily to get the premium currency and many rare resources which are needed to get new character or work on new characters,
you do get good amount of materials from main and side quests but as you keep on playing and getting new character or working on about 6-8 characters you run out of them,
(this also includes all the materials get from hundreds of chests which you have to find thru out the world)
(with sumeru and other updates amount might have gone 1-2character up)
and after it takes from 2-3 weeks to work on any character leveling, (that is if you use all resources efficiently and play daily)
after character leveling comes weapons then comes artifacts,
artifacts are purely based on RNG (aka Gach/gambling) which takes good amount of time to farm something with decent states and artifact farming also uses time gated energy/resin method.
you need 5 artifacts for 1 character but that's not the only thing there is,
most materials that are needed to level up and upgrade character requires time gated energy/resin,
Artifacts level up takes artifacts to level up which means you have to farm tons of low tier artifacts thru out the world,
now to do all this you have to play main story line and also find chests which are hidden behind puzzles and hints,
so if you are not reading all the dialogues and talking to all the npc and good at deciphering them then you have to rely on Youtube guides to find them all,
besides that if you not very sharp will also require youtube guides to know which character to work on and what artifacts to get for them,
because game mechanics are complicated and like some character dmg scale based on hp or some have mixed where skill is atck base but ultimate is hp and many other things,
also you most likely already so that there's no auto pick up system so if you opening chests you materials drops out and you have to pick them up manually so when you find chest on cliffs enjoy your life.
and there are many FOMO tactics used in this game one of which is putting important lore of some characters behind event which won't come back ever again or banners for certain characters which take 6 months to a year to comeback,
if you are f2p or low spender you have to do all the events since they provide about 30% premium currency that f2p and low spenders can collect,
but there are some times events are all based on puzzles and you have to solve them to find chests it can be fun but I am not sure about finding 50+ chests,
there are many more problems that I can talk about like there's no End Game besides abyss which takes about 8-12 character and is easy once you know the game and got decent build on your characters and etc... but let's end it here,
over all if you decide to play I would recommend play it casually and don't give into FOMO tactics and Gacha,
decide 2-3 fav character or check guides and choose which characters you wanna work on most and be happy with them regardless what others say...
