Gamertag’s Take on VR Fitness Is Wrong – Here’s Why
#explorewithquest #questpartner
Today, we’re doing things a little differently. I’m responding to a post by @GamertagVR , a well-known VR content creator, who recently shared his thoughts on VR fitness—specifically, that it isn’t good for you. Now, I respect Gamertag and enjoy his content, but I have to disagree with his take, and in this video, I’ll explain why.
Fitness is personal, and VR fitness has helped countless people get active, stay consistent, and even find joy in movement. Just because something isn’t for you doesn’t mean it has no value. In this video, I’ll break down the arguments in his post, share my own perspective as a gym teacher and fitness enthusiast, and explain why dismissing VR fitness is a mistake.
What do you think? Did Gamertag miss the mark, or am I off base? Let’s have a conversation in the comments. Just remember—keep it respectful!

"Getting some requests to review a game called ‘Fitness Fables’ due to a lot of sponsored content going up and I regret to inform you, I have zero desire to do fitness in a VR headset and please allow me a moment to explain why.
I remember when I first got into VR I thought VR fitness was cool. Over time though I realised in real life I would never use it and it isn’t cool to promote something I wont actually use or believe in. I would guess most of the influencers who promote Fitness Fables will never use it again.
Now the reason I think VR fitness isn’t good for you is the lack of social interaction and I personally like real weight training even more than cardio. Muscles are a very important part of the body. It’s obviously good to physically push yourself and by increasing your muscle mass, you increase your daily calorific deficit (look that up if you don’t know what I mean, it’s awesome) Some gyms have saunas too which are hugely beneficial, but I digress.
Now some of you maybe introverted but hear me out. Keeping fit is obviously important. It’s beneficial to your body and your brain but I believe it’s very important being around people. Especially when everyone you see is all working towards the same goal. The social aspect of going to health club, being part of a fitness club like running or going to the gym in itself is healthy for both body and mind.
I’ve been going to the same gym for 7-8 years and I recognise many people now and have some great conversations before, after and sometimes during my workouts. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy to beat the shit out of someone in thrill of the fight or slice blocks in Beat Saber and while having fun I’m burning calories as a bi-product, but I don’t want to flap my arms around like bird collecting eggs or some shit. ✌ ️ "
