8MAX-FX is a game engine developed in 1997 by Remedy Entertainment. The first game for which it was created is Max Payne from 2001. The engine allows you to create realistic lighting using the energy method. In addition, it has a particle system that allows you to create volumetric effects such as smoke or fire.
