Games Workshop: Necromunda Van Saar unboxed and built!
Whoops. I've been sitting on this video a while- so long in fact I've actually started painting them when I realized I never uploaded this!
After spending so much time messing around with Malifaux models, I was eager to jump on the Van Saar rerelease as I'd heard they were quite fiddly. 'Perfect', I thought.
'I love fiddly models!'
Well... they were fiddly, but not Malifaux levels of fiddly. I was actually a bit let down in that regard. They are pretty modular though, and if you take your time building them, I think you can get some really good results. I particularly liked the modular nature of the guns. Basically the barrels are there own thing so you can just swap whatever weapon type you want and you're good to go. Although the really industrious types would attempt to find a way to magnetize it...
Overall I really enjoyed building these guys and gals. They have a very different style to them- more Infinity than 40k in terms of aesthetics if you know what I mean. They also lack a lot of the modern GW ornamentation that a lot of models suffer from, which means you could probably sneak these models into all sorts of other games without a lot of extra work carving and sanding off details.
Now to begin the slow wait towards the Enforcers!
