Grind Session, a skateboarding game for the Playstation - a victim of unfortunate timing. Today we take a look back at the game released May 23, 2000 in North America.

In development prior to Activision's highly lauded Tony Hawk's Pro Skater's release, it had faced the poor circumstance seen often from media arts before it: Where in itself, the media in question was good, but not as notable as the already existing alternative. In this video, we take a look back at the game with rose-tinted glasses competing through the Tournament (career) mode, and experience this game for what it was. If THPS never existed, this would have been THE BEST skateboarding game on the ps1.

If you want to truly experience this game for yourself, I recommend doing so using modern methods such as emulation - the old graphics on an original ps1 console are a bit hard on the eyes. I also recommend playing the game with it's music on - I was unable to post gameplay clips with the in game music - but it truly accents the gameplay in great fashion.

And yes, the speedrunning record for tournament mode Any% is 14m 3s, the run in this video is around 19m 17s. If you want me to try and break the record, let me know in the comments. I feel it's doable, just want to ensure there is interest!
