• Usman Garuba said the Warriors have long been interested in him dating back to pre-draft process in 2021. He was traded this summer from the Rockets to the Hawks to the Thunder and then cut. Thought he’d be with OKC. Pivoted and landed with Warrior: “Long summer, honestly… I thought I was gonna be with OKC… they were really interested in me, not only now, especially the 2021 Draft… in Vegas, I had dinner with them… best option for me, being part of this organization.”
• Garuba: “I think I can help the team with putting energy, giving energy, effort. Trying to do my best every day. And I don't know, I just want to help the team win and I will do whatever it takes.”
• On shooting threes: “I was taking the right shots (last season).”
• Brandin Podziemski says he talked to Steph Curry about his poor shooting performance in summer league and Steph had tips and great perspective on what he saw: “I’ve gotten way better since summer league… just some tips. I don’t want to share.”

• Cory Joseph on playing with James Wiseman in Detroit: “I was impressed. First practice, I was like 'dang this guy is talented.' Athletic, long arms, can affect shots. I think he's got a great opportunity in the stage they're at in Detroit.”
