(GBA) Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction Gameplay

Hey, how’s everybody doin’? Here’s a gameplay of Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction for the Game Boy Advance, requested by Blaine Angelo20. This game is based on the actual live sport, “Monster Jam” by Feld Entertainment in 1992, which is also associated with the United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA). As it features many actual, real life monster trucks (most famously: Grave Digger).
It was made by Inland Productions for the PC, PlayStation 2 & Nintendo GameCube. Also, it was made by Unique Development Studios for the Game Boy Advance as both consoles been published by Ubi Soft in 2002.
As Maximum Destruction features certain racing mini-games (sort of like Mario Kart), it’s mostly a vehicle combat brawl (similar to Twisted Metal) with demolition derby, mixed together. Players can pick modes such as “Arcade” or “Championship,” as well certain difficulty: Easy, Normal or Hard. There’s a total of six arenas. Only two are available from the start of it: Junk Yard & Hollywood.
Plus, there’s a shop aka Garage where players can choose to purchase any truck body parts or different monster trucks with the money earned for completing each Arena in Championship to improve the chosen truck for later or past competition levels.
The main purpose is to be the last monster truck standing, by depleting all of your opponent’s energy bar as collecting useful power-ups and jump abilities to land on opponent’s vehicle or dodge any incoming attacks. Not only that, but players will have to collect checkered flag without being out for missing it, along with its time limit. Anyone can be out, if taking too much damage without getting the wrench item to repair the truck.
There’s a total of 26 trucks: Airborne Ranger, American Guardian, Avenger, Blacksmith, Blue Thunder, Bulldozer, Bustin' Loose, The Destroyer, Eradicator, Goldberg, Grave Digger, Gunslinger, King Krunch, Madusa, Mountaineer, Predator, Prowler, Reptoid, Spider-Man, Sting, Sudden Impact, Survivor, Thrasher, Wild Thang & Wolverine. Only a few monster trucks were removed from the game: WCW Nitro Machine, Wrenchead.com & High Roller (only in the GBA version).
The only monster trucks that wasn’t included in the GBA are: Blacksmith, Goldberg, Sting, Survivor & Wild Thang. And the only unlockable trucks in the GBA are: The Incredible Hulk, Blue Thunder, Slam Tilt & Emperoar. Sadly, those two monster trucks were fictionally created for the GBA version as they don't exist in real life.
Only a few monster trucks that are available to begin with: Airborne Ranger, Avenger, Bulldozer & Bustin’ Loose.
I first started off with the Airborne Ranger and chose the first arena: Junk Yard in Arcade. I did kind of lousy by both Bustin' Loose & Avenger; mostly the Avenger. It was my first time, playing this as I had no idea what to do against these guys. Lol, give me a break. 😆 Anyway, the controls were a bit awkward and the power-steering was a little difficult to handle.
At certain times, I got stunned as my truck was inoperable for a little bit as I had to keep pressing and holding the accelerate button to get it to move freely. Then the Bulldozer starts open firing at me with the machine guns and both of them (including Bustin’ Loose) were able to finish me off, by ramming into my truck.
Came in 3rd, which wasn’t so bad for a beginner. The second try was a bit better than the first as I manage to bring the Avenger down and also came in 2nd. The third try was even better, except I suffered major damage from both the Avenger & Bustin’ Loose and their machine-guns.
I was finally getting the upper hand from the Mayhem power-up as I manage to clobber both Bulldozer & Avenger, yet I missed at getting Bustin’ Loose with it (that guy was more of a punk than the Avenger).
Finally, I was able to make 1st place after I finished off, by gunning down the Bulldozer with nearly damage loss. I decided to switch over to the Avenger truck and begin the Hollywood stage. This one was starting to be somewhat bothersome.
Got hit by a green missile from Airborne Ranger opponent, then we both got stunned by electromagnetic pulse gun from the Bulldozer. Then, both Bulldozer and Bustin’ Loose just freakin’ blocked me off from getting the checker flag, by ramming me head on (damn, now that's rude 😠).
Man, I couldn’t believe how Bustin’ Loose prevented me from getting the nitro speed power-up and attack me with his Mayhem special. Tried to survive this round, but it was a crap, cheap shot move from both Bustin’ Loose & Airborne Ranger, who finished me off by ramming into me. Just as I was trying to reach for the checker flag.
