GCHD MK-II - HDMI GameCube Adaptor Overview
I just received this the night of this recording so I can't tell you one way or another if it's a good or bad product because that sort of thing takes time as I learned with the Kaico HDMI adaptor I had prior to this one, which broke out of nowhere. Don't buy the Kaico adaptor even though it's cheaper, because it sucks. Just from a manufacturing standpoint the build quality on that is garbage and is highly prone to breakage. I CAN tell you what the MK-II does and how it works, and what my first impressions are and that's what I'm doing in this video.
If this thing ends up sucking, I'll be talking about it in my later videos.
There were some things I wasn't clear of as this was my first time using it in the video that I'll clear up here:
The default output of this is 480p you don't need to change any settings to get that output. Quite frankly you don't really need an infra red remote for this thing to do exactly what you want it to do, unless for some reason you're a freak and like making your games look like s*** on modern TVs and want fake scan lines. Then yes, you'll need a remote to get to those garbage settings. Why you would go out of your way to make your games look worse like that is something you'll need to work out yourself.
Also, the Swiss software on my Gamecube was set to 480p though for some reason I kept thinking it was set to 480i. I have absolutely NO IDEA why I thought that, but it is what it is. I think a lot of things and most of the times what I think is wrong.
So that's it. So far it's a solid product... until it isn't. I'll let you know when that happens and with my luck it'll probably be sooner rather than later.
