Gears 5 Characters Require 10-Hour Grinds If Not Bought (And Some Are Paid Terminator Adverts)
9,069Gears 5 has a character update, and if you don't want to buy the newcomers, you'll need to grind for them over a course of ten hours. Unless you want the Terminator: Dark Fate characters, which can only be purchased and cost $19.99 for a mere two of them.
The Coalition has gone out of its way to make Gears 5 as convoluted as possible, with its existing mess of purchases and unlocks joined by a new "Totem" system where you craft an item to unlock objectives that, once completed after MUCH grinding, will give you a single character.
Each of the characters are expected to take around ten hours to unlock, but you can just buy them outright for five bucks. Meanwhile, the Terminator characters cost twice as much despite turning the player into walking advertisements for a movie.
