I'm sure you are aware of the various ways to earn gold in this game. If you are not, write "gems of war gold farm" in the search bar and find out. Anyway, the usual method what people do is the basic so called "Key" deck, which has Greed, Cedric, Egg Thief and hero using Skeleton Key. Now that Skeleton Key got nerfed, people switched to Corsair class weapon "Plunder and Peril". Nothing wrong in that, good switch. However, I always felt that deck could be improved some way, and I replaced Greed to High King Irongut. I also switched Skeleton Key to Essence of Evil. This used to be my go to gold farm deck for some time, until I reached a point that I didn't need to farm gold that much anymore. But this topic came back to table few days back and after some discussion and tinkering with my guild mates, this is what we came up with.

Obviously I went to the testing lab how would this Zuul version run against the other Gold Farm decks. It has been tested previously that if we aim for hourly gold, Double Cedric, Egg Thief and Plunder and Peril beats the single Cedric version with Greed. But how would this Zuul run against Douple Cedric deck?

Time to do 30 mins of nonstop grinding in Divinion Fields using both teams.

Zuul team results after 30 mins:

Trophies earned - 114 (38 battles)
Gold gained - 314719

Double Cedric team results after 30 mins:

Trophies earned - 84 (28 battles)
Gold gained - 303128

Conclusion: Even though the double Cedric team will generate over 2k more gold per battle (for me), in the long run Zuul team is better choice. It is faster thus it will gain just slightly more gold but it will earn also more tokens, and that's the main selling point. I also felt that Zuul deck is a lot more reliable. That freeze after lethal shot is pretty big thing in bigger scale. It saves a lot of time.

Also worth mentioning that the gold you gain may differ a lot from what I get. VIP levels affect this but it doesn't change the outcome in long run. Multipliers and variables are still the same to all of us. If you go grind gold for an hour, that Zuul deck will generate more gold and tokens than double Cedric team with Plunder and Peril. No matter what your VIP level is.
