Unknown Futures of Generalization

I will take the time allotted to my talk to make malicious fun of the notion of “Out of distribution”. This will set up some consideration of how actual animals in the world have to generalize and about the nature of the process of evolution that gives rise to these capabilities. I will then talk a bit about curiosity, causality, and compositionality from a real-life perspective.
