Today, we tested Genji's Deflect and tried to figure out the size of the hitbox as well as testing interesting interactions with it. I am going to try and break down most of the contents of the video below:

Genji's deflect hit box is pretty big extending to the left and right past his character model as well as above and below him.

We tested to see at the angle Genji would still be able to reflect and pretty much any projectile that comes toward him from his front (a full 180 degrees) will get blocked. If you shoot from anywhere behind him including through his swords, it will not be deflected.

Myth 1: Can Genji protect a character that is in front of him? | Yes, his hit box is big enough to protect people in front of him.

Myth 2: Can Genji take damage from a projectile and still deflect it | Yes, but this may just be a property of Symmetra's bullet (which passes through characters)

Myth 3: If Genji reflects a sonar arrow, will him and his team gain the vision benefits? | Yep, they will see as if Genji fired the arrow.

I think most people know the basics of deflect which is anything that Genji deflects will cause the projectile to then travel in the direction of crosshairs and will instantly become Genji's bullet. What we decided to do was skip the basic tests on every character and instead test characters that might have a unique interaction.

If Genji is hit with a melee, it will instead be blocked.

Genji: All three shruken from secondary fire will get reflected if close enough. The dash cannot get blocked, but melee will get canceled.

McCree flashbang: It can be deflected and can still hit multiple targets on return to sender

Pharah: Concussive blast can be deflected, her ult can also be deflected and Genji can partially protect an ally that is close to him. However, there is a lot of splash damage so you Genji could die from the splash.

Mei: Her ult can be blocked before it activates fully and it will become Genji's, but her primary fire can't be blocked.

Reaper damage fall off: My theory is that the damage fall off from a projectile is reset when Genji deflects it, but I need more testing (should have done it with soldier or McCree)

Zarya: Primary attack cannot be deflected, but her secondary and ult can be deflected

Soldier 76: If his ult is targeting a character besides Genji, the deflect can still work to protect the targeted character.

Hanzo's Ult: It can be deflected if it is still in arrow form, but once the dragons come out it is too late

Junkrat: His trap cannot be deflected. However his mine has the most interesting interaction. If the mine is deflected and it hits the ground before it hits anyone, it will disappear. If it hits Genji's enemies, it will activate and damage them. If Junkrat activates the mine after the deflect, it will activate and damage Junkrat and his allies. Junkrat's ult will pass through deflect.

Widowmaker Headshot: The sniper bullet has a 2.5x modifier if it hits the head of a character. If Genji deflects the shot, it will still have 2.5x as well.
