hi. for the few viewers that actually watch my content, as you know, i've been very inactive when it comes to uploading gd content. i'd like to break down some of the reasons why into points, as a person who only uploads geometry dash and nothing else:

1. demotivation

this one probably applies to other geometry dash youtubers as well, but lately, if i had to be honest, geometry dash has been getting less and less interesting for me. according to steam stats, i've played geometry dash for about 1.9k hours, but a majority of those hours were spent in 2016 and early 2017, when the game was and more interesting for me.
now, this lack of motivation would be because of the delay of the 2.2 update, but in general, this game has been getting less and less fun for me, almost to the point where i'd like to have this channel host a variety of games instead, rather than just gd. i don't play this game for views either, or else i would've probably moved onto something else by now. not to mention, the community is toxic as well, but i've kept away from that. overall, i've never really thought about quitting, but i find it more enjoying to play other games, instead.

2. computer limitations

by even watching a few of my videos, you know that my videos aren't exactly the pinnacle of human achievement when it comes to quality. i got this computer back in july of 2016, and it worked well for a while, and i was satisfied with the quality of my videos, even if it reached only up to 720p60. by 2017, this computer had basically deteriorated. i don't think it was because of the 2.1 update at all, because performance had dropped drastically for other programs as well.
because of this, the visual quality of my videos suffers and the frames become very choppy. this is probably a factor of why my skill has decreased as well. this level, aquamarine, probably would've taken me about 20 attempts at most, but the choppy frames and input delay that i have (since i use a wireless mouse) makes playing the simplest demons a terrible task to perform. i know i use bandicam, but it's really my only option, since i cannot figure out the correct settings my computer could use for obs. i would've gotten a new better computer by now, but i don't exactly the money to easily afford it, either.

3. time constraints and school

this one is a lot more on the obvious side, but distractions such as school and piano lessons cut down the amount of time i have to play gd and other games. not much else to really say here.

-conclusion and the future:

so, if you actually took the time to read all this, you can see that geometry dash just doesn't interest me as much as a did a few years ago. i play other games now, such as osu and terraria, and i have a discord server (jonathangd's) to attend to as a staff(..). 2 years ago, none of these things were as big of an issue. again, i've been thinking of starting to upload a more diverse amount of games for this channel and not just my second channel, but that may wait until i get a better computer. you know, just something more interesting to watch. for geometry dash, i believe that i would be able to beat many more interesting and difficult demons (ie. dark travel) if i had a better computer. this will not mean i will buy a 144hz monitor at all, but anything better than this computer will work.
