Breathtaking footage has captured Nato Eurofighter Typhoon jets flying over the smoking and bubbling volcanoes of Iceland during exercise Rapid Viking.

The captivating video shows the jets soaring above smouldering volcanoes as they fly over the barren landscape of the North Atlantic island country.

Six German Eurofighters, two A400M transport planes, and 50 personnel were stationed at Keflavik air base, where they were flying up to eight practice flights a day.
