Age of Empires IV is the fourth installment in the Age of Empires series, created by Relic Studios and World's Edge and published by Xbox Game Studios. Like its predecessors, it is a real-time strategy game where you build your own city and attack your opponents', but unlike its predecessors, it features new ways of expanding your city and advancing to the next age from the previous one, including constructing landmarks that will provide a powerful bonus for your city. Some landmarks may allow you to produce any type of unit at all you want from it, others provide additional defense against invading troops, while others can heal any units that have been wounded in combat. In addition, the game offers a variety of victory conditions that include destroying all enemy landmarks, controlling all the sacred sites, and building a wonder.

As an old fan of Age of Empires II, I was very thrilled when Age of Empires IV was announced. I've always dreamed of showing games like this on my channel because I wanted to give people whose PCs don't meet at least the minimum requirements for it, as I feared for mine. I was most concerned about my PC not having DirectX12 and my CPU not being capable of AVX, or Advanced Vector Extensions. I did a quick test with Civilization VI: New Frontier Pass for DirectX12, and it worked with some minor issues, and I read that AVX was introduced in 2011, and my PC is at least 2 and a half years old as of this game being launched, so I figured I would be okay in terms of my CPU having AVX capability.
