Gex Series
The Gex series is a collection of platformer video games developed by Crystal Dynamics, featuring the wisecracking, television-obsessed gecko, Gex. Serving as the company's mascot for several years until 2000, the series debuted in 1995 and expanded across multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Windows, and Game Boy Color. Notable entries include Gex (1995), Gex: Enter the Gecko (1998), and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (1999).
Gex's distinct personality is brought to life by different voice actors across regions. In North America, comedian Dana Gould provides his witty one-liners, while the UK versions also feature Leslie Phillips and Danny John-Jules. The Japanese release of Gex Enter the Gecko introduced Mitsuo Senda as the gecko’s voice. The series' humour, pop culture references, and engaging platforming gameplay have made Gex a memorable part of 1990s gaming history. #gaming #videogames #platformer
