Music Type: Punk

Originally released in 1980, with several songs featured on this release not present. I guess you could consider this an update to that? There were 500 copies made, as well as one repress and one (apparent?) misprint. The original 1987 mother recordings were used for this pressing, the dropouts are from mishandling of those. GG Allin is an obvious infamous figure whos life was marred by abuse, drug addiction, mental problems, and later, beyond terrible decisions (assaulting audience members, shitting on stage and causing riots, among much else) which made him well known. He was good at drumming and never took credit for it, he was inspired by John Lennon to become a musician, his dad named him "Jesus Christ Allin". A woman pressed charges against him and got him put in jail because he rejected her marriage proposal. His mental evaluation he had in jail determined he was an alcoholic, narcissist, with mixed personality disorder, masochistic tendencies and average intelligence. The staff reported that throughout the trial he was considerate, cooperative and not psychotic like what hes known for implies. While he was with The Jabbers, he started to thrash around on stage, flip tables and steal peoples beer. This was probably done to bring more attention to the band. GG's behavior often got them kicked out and banned from the venues they played at, which frustrated the other band members because they practiced a lot. They ended disbanding for the aforementioned. I remember watching old interviews of, or about GG where his brother described GG as a "quiet person which kept to himself", which was often bullied in school for cross dressing, among other things. GG's late fans described him off stage as a "quiet, surprisingly well mannered guy".

I had gotten this record a few years ago, after I had finally caved in and bought it. I had been listening to it consistently in middle school and highschool for years prior. I thoroughly enjoyed the quips and constant, troll-ish, crude humor of the entire album. Most of the songs are really relatable and catchy. I find GG's life really sad, if he would've toned down his antics and gotten help, he could've went on to do some pretty neat stuff. Somewhat unironically, I knew many "GG's", however, I don't know what they're up to nowadays.
