Jin Sakai and his allies meet with Lord Shimura at Shimura's camp to discuss a plan to retake Castle Shimura. They learn that Mongol forces, led by Ryuzo, have fortified themselves at Fort Koyasan. Lord Shimura suggests that defeating the Mongols at the fort would give them an advantage in reclaiming the castle. Jin decides to confront Ryuzo and settle their conflict. He asks Yuna to join him, but she wants peace and believes it's Jin's responsibility. Reluctantly, Jin agrees to go alone.
Jin arrives at Fort Koyasan to scout the area but is surprised when Taka catches up with him. Taka wants to help and creates a diversion while Jin sneaks through the fort. However, Jin is ambushed by a Straw Hat and knocked out. When he wakes up, he and Taka are captured and tied up. Khotun Khan appears and offers Jin a chance to end the war by surrendering and joining the Mongols. Jin refuses, and Khotun orders Taka to kill Jin. Taka tries to attack Khotun instead but is killed.
Jin regains consciousness, frees himself, and fights his way through the fort. He eventually reaches the inner courtyard where Yuna is waiting. Yuna asks about her brother, but Jin's silence tells her something is wrong. They set aside their differences as enemies close in, defending themselves and escaping the courtyard together.
Jin and Yuna find a secluded spot to honor Taka's memory. They create a makeshift grave and place his headband on top as a symbol of his spirit. Jin gives Yuna time to mourn her brother's loss. They vow to continue fighting the Mongols and seek justice for those who have fallen, united in their grief and determination.
