In their desperate quest to rally the remaining members of Clan Yarikawa and secure their aid in reclaiming Castle Shimura from the Mongol Empire, Jin Sakai and Yuna find themselves facing a daunting challenge. The people of Yarikawa hold deep-seated resentment towards Lord Shimura, and to make matters worse, the Mongols have established a massive camp outside the impenetrable walls of Yarikawa Stronghold.
Born and raised in Yarikawa, Yuna and her brother Taka possess invaluable knowledge that could prove vital in their mission. Rumors of a secret entrance hidden beneath the majestic waterfall leading into Yarikawa Stronghold have circulated for years, but its accessibility remains uncertain. With their hopes pinned on this secret passage, Jin, Yuna, and Taka resolve to take the dangerous gamble of sneaking past the Mongol forces guarding the stronghold.
Their journey begins as they venture towards the Ruins of Old Yarikawa, where Yuna awaits their arrival. The trio reunites, their determination unwavering as they prepare to face the perilous path ahead. Following Yuna's lead, they move stealthily through the shadows, their every footstep cautious and measured.
At a treacherous crossroads, they encounter a group of Mongol soldiers, their presence a constant reminder of the danger that looms. With nerves of steel, Jin and his companions silently allow the soldiers to pass, their hearts pounding with the fear of discovery. The Mongols continue on their way, oblivious to the three intruders hiding in the shadows.
As they approach the Mongol camp, Jin and his allies take a moment to survey the surroundings, searching for any possible avenue of infiltration. Their eyes scan the camp meticulously, seeking out yurts, pampas grass, burning buildings, and gaps in fences—anything that can provide cover and concealment. Their success hinges on remaining unseen, using every ounce of their training and resourcefulness to evade the Mongols' watchful gaze.
Crossing the river, they follow its meandering path, staying to the left and navigating beneath a bridge with practiced precision. A Mongol horse patrol grazes nearby, but with impeccable timing, Jin and his companions hold their breath, pausing just long enough for the patrol to move away, their attention diverted elsewhere. The crucial seconds pass, and with a sigh of relief, the trio resumes their journey towards the hidden waterfall.
