⚔ ️ Game Length & Story
25–35 hours for the main story, 60–80 for 100%. Split into three chapters with minimal tutorial. No NG+, so take your time exploring.
🌍 World Restrictions
Six regions total - five open after the prologue, Oshima Coast locked until late game. Unlike Tsushima, the map won’t unfog by story or camps, making the spyglass essential.
🔭 Exploration Tips
Climb the highest shrine (torii gates mark them) and use the unlimited spyglass to reveal activities through fog. Approach to unlock fast travel; complete later if you want.
⛩ ️ Open World Activities
12 total: Bamboo Strikes, Hot Springs, Pillars of the Fallen, Shrines, Sumi-e, Occupied Locations, Zeni Hajiki, Inari fox Shrines, Shamisen Songs, Wolf Bonds, Puzzle Boxes and Altars of Reflection. Rewards include health upgrades, charms, cosmetics, resources and skill points.
🌱 Skills & Abilities
Altars lock you into spending points. Early trees: Onryo (base attacks), Assassination, Survival, Ranged. Melee stance skills unlock via sensei quests. Revenge & Wolf trees open later.
🐺 Wolf Companion
Clear Wolf Dens to tame your wolf. Lake Shikotsu is the first. Four dens unlock the Wolf skill tree, seven let you name it. Huge combat advantage against stance-locked enemies.
🥷 Weapon Stances Early
Visit sensei across regions to unlock Dual Katana, Yari Spear, Odachi and Kusarigama before advancing the story. This unlocks stance abilities, boosts damage and earns cosmetics.
🛡 Armour & Customisation
Armour provides perks, helmets/masks are cosmetic. Upgrade sets via blacksmiths (diamonds = tiers). Upgrades change appearance, but you can revert in the dye menu. No transmog.
⚒ Weapon Upgrades
Completed at your father’s forge. Four phases:
• Phase 1 → 20x metal
• Phase 2 → +15 Oni Masks (Ishikari Plains)
• Phase 3 → +Shinobi Steel (Teshio Ridge)
• Phase 4 → 60x metal, 15 rare metals, +Gun Parts (Oshima Coast)
Explore early to max weapons before late-game.

Adjust parry timing, enable enhanced wind, turn on Zeni Hajiki shot display, set bamboo presses to simplified and switch on Golden Bird guidance.
