53No commentary playthrough of Ghostware: Arena of the Dead. Normal difficulty. Getting all secrets and collectibles (I think).
Ghostware is a riff on Unreal and Unreal Tournament where the characters from the games are misteriously brought back from the dead into a dead arena shooter game, which has also been haunted and twisted over all these years of abandonment...
While Ghostware didn't certainly rock my world, I enjoyed it in a "early 2000s game" kind of vibe... but without the jankiness. However, I felt that there is little of either the "arena shooter" or the "unreal like" in the offer, as I spent lots of time just exploring. Maybe I expected a different kind of game, idk. You can also revisit cleared areas in search for items and lore "weblinks" that will also eventually grant you new abilities, adding just a little bit of metroidvania into the mix. The story, while it seemed interesting, it felt that is was delivered in a very cryptic way. If you like to nerd about game world lore, this might well be a game for you. It also has two endings, adding some replayability.

Ghostware toma de Unreal y Unreal Tournament, donde los personajes son misteriosamente traídos a la vida de nuevo a un juego arena shooter muerto, que ha sido además encantando y retorcido tras tantos años de abandono...
Aunque Ghostware no me ha cambiado la vida, lo disfruté en un sentido muy "shooter tosco de princpios de los 2000"... pero sin ser tosco. Eso sí, siento que hubo poco de "arena shooter" o de "unreal like" en la oferta, ya que me pasé más tiempo explorando que otra cosa. Tal vez esperaba otro tipo de juego, no sé. También puedes revisitar zonas completadas para buscar mejoras y entradas de trasfondo del juego que eventualmente te proporcionarán nuevas habilidades, añadiendo también un poquito de metroidvania en la mezcla. La historia, aunque me parecio interesante, está expuesta de una forma bastante críptica. Si te gusta frikear en el lore de los juegos, este juego puede que sea para ti. Además, tiene dos finales, añadiendo algo de rejugabilidad.
