Explanation:
If you hold one button down and use a different button to hit notes during an Attack phase and you time really early, you can sometimes cause notes to register with absolutely no judgement at all, not even an OK. This awards no points but also doesn't penalise you while dealing no damage to the enemy. This allows you to drag most songs in the game out for a lot longer than is usually possible, allowing you to farm far more points off Guard phases than possible since score in this game is heavily weighted towards the total note count moreso than accuracy. As a result, score plays usually get terrible ranks.

This type of play is also really hard to maintain because surprise, it's hard to consistently hit on the earliest possible bit of the timing window to attain this "Null" judgement.

I'm not entirely sure why this Null Judgement even happens, but if I had to guess I think it's what happens when a previous hold note and a new note's timing overlaps and you're extending the previous note as long as possible by holding down one button constantly, resulting in it being possible to achieve very regularly.

This score attack isn't even vaguely optimal or even very refined but I couldn't find any videos online demonstrating this weird technique so I felt obligated to put it up in case someone in future searches "gitaroo man score attack" and can't find anything. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/punchy
