I don't think it's worth gathering the extra items for a 10% chance in a strategy, just to get the FP to reduce to 5 instead of 0.

And some author's notes:
-I would really have liked to minimize the attack item usage. The POW Block one is especially annoying, since Quake Hammer deals 1+1 damage at full HP - there's just no good recovery option to supplement it. The Egg Missile is permissible to me because this is the first time we get to see it, and there are genuinely almost no ways to actually deal that six damage otherwise. (It's equivalent to the Shooting Star already accessible, but it's single target, so it's cooler)
-You can do this strategy without relying on Shrink Stomp or using Quake Hammer, but it's a lot more item-spam heavy, so I chose not to use it.
-Merlee attack spell may work well for this strat (could open up the 8 damage spot to one of Marios moves, or 9 damage with no Power Plus) but honestly I didn't want the hassle of setting it up if possible
