side note: I didn't like The Animatrix as a youngin. Trin, Morpheus, and Neo were all I cared about. But now, being a lore-ist, The Animatrix is actually a very artistic chunk of expansion for the Matrix-verse, so many perspectives from different artstyles.
Technically Animatrix is Matrix 0, the prequel and filling in gaps in 'Reloaded'.
The Trinity were the staple characters, & the war boiled down to their actions, but The Matrix world was bigger than just those three legends.
