Gmod Addon Review: WarCraft III [Revisited]
Revisited to see the new summons, new abilities, and increased quality to NPC behaviors, stats, and more! Co-starring late in the video, Murder Drones characters against the Alliance and Horde forces. B1 Battle Droids get a re-match against the improved and angrier Fel Orcs, Orcs roll over the Hyperdimension cast, to Marisa Kirisame rolls over the horde.
As for things I noticed this time around:
1) Some people wonder why their bodies disappear. They use what I call the "Models". They are just Models, not ragdolls. So they literally vanish when they die because they have no ragdoll to leave behind. Otherwise it'd just clutter up the map with static models and that looks no good at all, and probably cause errors. Of course it would be nice I suppose for those who want to make a scene with a lot of dead WarCraft NPCs be it for a cinematic cutscene attempt to make a decent WarCraft styled mission in Gmod, I can see why they don't really linger. I don't even know if they CAN linger, and I don't think many would want that.
Besides, you can bone-manipulate and pose the models yourself! Then copy and paste accordingly until you got the bodies laid out. Simple! Takes more effort than ragdolls, but it's possible!
2) NPCs have a lot of health and game accurate detection radius. Very faithful to the game of origin. Robust, accurate, what's not to love for a WarCraft fan? Especially their abilities. Paladins can heal, Admiral can summon those sea elementals, Orc heroes can go invisible for a short period, amazing!
3) Orc heroes can go invisible. I love this ability. Pretty cool and the only way to tell they are there is the glow of their blades or their shadows. It's pretty cool to see this implemented. Granted it's a first for me, I think. Seeing NPCs not react to those invisible, like the Predator from Aliens vs. Predator.
4) I like how the Navy Elite are literally elites now. Unlike their regular counterparts, they can actually stand toe to toe with Fel Orcs. Even against double the number they seem to win. Granted I made them have a well balanced force, even did so with the Orcs, but man they're a lot more tankier than the regular counterparts whom you need 2-3 Footmen for 1 Orc Grunt, 1 Elite Footman can beat 2-3 Orcs alone.
5) I tried to make a parody of the WarCraft 3 Undead Rising Human Campaign beginning mission... but man the AI was borked because the map was not intended for AI to traverse... definitely not. So they were struggling to really do anything from my experience. Could have just been the NPCs, or the map, but honestly it was the only fantasy map available. So I did what I could despite the borked AI nodes and unfriendly terrain.

This went through development hell lol. The sound for this is a little, less, than normal. Usually my stuff's recorded at 1/10th of the total possible volume for my PC. Good enough you can listen at 15-20/100 perfectly. The volume of this is more than halved due to the audio clip I got of the campaign for WarCraft III's Undead Rising mission being of the more quieter side despite being non-commentary.
What's worse than the audio, is my video editors had been mucked up lately. For some undiscernible reason, it doesn't freeze when I played it back in the video editors. But suddenly, when it was made, boom, moments where it freezes and stuff. Honestly it feels like I went through 3 days of recording and editing for nothing. Like, damn, all that effort felt wasted. Luckily enough of the video remained, intact, only some few moments froze up, most of it was the quality degrading. Then again, that's what I saw. It could be just my PC being unable to handle Clipchamp... like damn Clipchamp lags for some reason even with good internet connectivity. But I can only afford free editing software, and all I got is Video Editor for basic clips and 3D effects, with Clipchamp for overlaying videos and transitions. Clipchamp is hit or miss, but it requires internet connection so whenever my internet's mucked up I can't edit videos... I didn't design it, but if I did, it definitely wouldn't be reliant on the internet connection to function proper.
