Alpha Team was a paramilitary unit within the Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.), which was responsible for high-risk operations within the company. During Operation: NESTWRECKER, Alpha Team was part of the 1st Squad with Bravo Team; Alpha infiltrating NEST to retrieve the experimental Golgotha Virus from the rebelling Dr. William Birkin, while Bravo providing additional defense at a rendezvous point.[1]
They succeeded, after shooting Birkin and leave him for dead, escapìng with the samples, but William, after infecting himself, transformed and pursued them. He trapped them in the sewers, slaughtering them. The entire team was killed with the exception of the team leader, HUNK, who succeeded in escaping the city with the sample.
