[GMS Reboot] Shadower Easy Kaling Solo (27:28)
10DPM-heavy Kaling solo with Cont4 (no ror).
This was such a unique experience when it comes to boss fights. Balancing a trinity of gauge meters while fighting off four different types of bosses in one fight. Overall, I really enjoyed this battle once I had learned the boss mechanics.
P1 - Hundun: Unarguably the most difficult matchup out of the three bosses. His frontal swipe was way too fast to dodge, and his other attacks were a mission to handle as he can do multiple attacks one after the other. I relied on getting out of there hastily while trying to predict where and when his next swipe attack would be, to try and evade it.
Qionqi: The easiest matchup. Three different attacks, a fly movement, and a hide-and-seek sequence. Not bad.
Taowu: He fits in the middle in terms of difficulty. Half of his attacks have a fast animation. Forming the tesla triangles were pretty fun.
P2 - This is where I really wish I had a RoR4. Kaling moves around a lot, and there are plenty of hazards around you. You also can't stand still as you constantly get debuffed with the exploding bomb. Kaling's attack's are swift, not giving you much time to dodge them. The exception is her frontal jab attack - that attack animation gives you a decent amount of time to react to and dodge. The FMAs were annoying and can really put you off-rhythm. I lost a lot of damage here by trickblading right before she would activate her flight mode.
P3 - There was barely any breathing room in this phase. Managing the gauge, avoiding the millions of environmental hazards around you, avoiding the bosses attacks, all while keeping track of your burst and buff timers. I lost most of my lives to Taowu here - the two second stun from his attacks were unforgiving. I think I made a mistake by putting Kaling in her awakened state at 50% hp. Should've chipped her hp down lower before doing so.
Eventually I'm going to want to solo this boss in a real run to get the maple achievement.
