Go Away Big Green Monster Review and Commentary
Bright clear colors and an innovative design based on the original book let children take control of the "scary" monster. Each page progressively reveals and then removes part of the Big Green Monster, by cleverly changing the background screen colors. Children can add the Monster's eyes, hair, ears, and nose, and poke him to see what he does. There are four modes: Read Along with a Friend (with a child narrator); Read Along with Ed (with author Ed Emberley as the narrator); Sing Along (turns the app into an animated experience, with music by performed by Ed's grand daughter Adrian Carney; and Read Yourself which features no narration.
This is a great app to read to a class, although it could benefit from a self-narration (record your own) feature.
