God of War: Ascension - Temple of Delphi odds and ends
7Some extra footage of glitching at the Temple of Delphi, such as other spots where you can go OoB, some shortcuts and various results of going to the hourglass area of the temple early (i.e. Delphi Catacombs skip).
I: a low wall that you can jump over and fall OoB.
II: approaching the Delphi Catacombs, you can skip the Siren fight by jumping over the bars with a Shield jump.
III: an OoB possibility at the "locked door" of the higher level.
IV: in the Catacombs, you can speed up the puzzles of the area by jumping over the barred walls that are conveniently as high as they look, leaving a little gap to their top through which Kratos can jump.
V: on one occasion I managed to get to the area where there are chests past the bars (to the right of the big hourglass) using a Shield jump towards the bars. The lighting doesn't work in the corridor for the moment, and you can easily fall OoB from here too.
VI: you can do a shortcut for reaching the upper level at the hourglass by Shield jumping on the statue's hands carefully.
VII: you can get to the hourglass room early by jumping over the side/back walls of the earlier corridor as well, but for speedrun it's not quick enough.
VIII: jumping close to the hourglass if you're in the area early (especially to the right?) is liable to cause game crashes.
IX: activating the hourglass 1st time cutscene when you're in the area early. The camera can become stuck doing this.
X: a handy shortcut for getting to the lower floor from the hourglass balcony.
XI: after having done hourglass area early, you can't successfully break down the normally breakable doors while the world is in decrepit mode... it seems the game has loaded two instances of the door, one that destructs and one that doesn't. So, the puzzle of this area can't be completed normally if you're here early.
XII: a quick way to get back to the hourglass balcony from the room behind it.
XIII: jumping to the elevator chasm too early is pointless, as nothing is loaded...
XIV: this is how my Chapter Select-menu looked like after I skipped Delphi Catacombs. Chapter 11 is not included because I never visited there!
This is my last Ascension vid for a long while since I only had the game for a temporary period of time, and I've now returned it. Also, to be perfectly honest, I didn't like it. I'm not looking forward to ever playing it again. Never tried the multiplayer, so I can't judge that, but at least the single player campaign was a disappointment.
