After my last attempt at setting the land speed record in Kerbal Space Program 2, I took a break to work on other videos while also waiting for the patch to drop. That day has come with patch 0.1.1 landing and bringing with it a great improvement to framerates and reduction in the jankies of KSP 2.

So I decided to try again at the Land Speed record and here is my result of 1531m/s using a highly tuned design by Carlo M below. I tried a lot of different designs and they all still suffered from kraken wobbles. Somehow this design, that leverages the pendulum effect of mass and drag, is the most stable. I took it and applied some "jank science" with the simplest cockpit I could create and have the kerbal live while tuning to the ninth degree the fuel tanks and weights.
