OBS can be a fickle bitch. Especially with older games like Hellgate: London.

This video is pretty scuff, I'm still working bugs out as I go. Most of the issues I'm having is because I run things on a potato laptop. But that doesn't mean I can't have fun and play these games badly for your amusement!

Hellgate is set in the year 2038, 18 years after the apocalyptic "Burn" started (Hell's version of terraforming - they have done this to countless worlds before ours), and the few scattered survivors hide themselves underground, which they think is safe from the demon hordes.

The game itself is a bit of a controversy - you either love it or hate it - but you can't say that it didn't change the face of MMOs going forward. Yes, this IS an MMO (or WAS). It was developed by Flagship, which was made up of the remnants of Blizzard North. After the successes of Diablo and Diablo 2, these guys had the rug pulled from underneath them. They had another game in development concurrent with Hellgate, called Mythos. Mythos was the test bed for Hellgate's multiplayer framework.

Financing/production was handled by EA (before they started getting shitty and hating players), and Bandai/Namco. Hanbitsoft in Korea handled the distribution of the SE Asian version. They later bought the IP and released the Steam version of Hellgate, which had the nefarious 1 FPS bug.

I also mentioned that the game came out in '03 when in reality it came out in '07. Bit of an "oops" there on my part.

So enjoy this trip through HELL, folks.
