This is a combination of another 4 credit attempt on the game and practicing the final stage and boss with save/load states. Keeping the ridable dragon toward the end is the main part of my strategy as well as getting the boss into a knockdown, combo loop when all minions are defeated. I should be able to complete a 4 CC or less run (4 coins or less) after this practice.
