Plok is a platformer exclusively for the SNES, developed by the British duo, the Pickford Bros. - they have a neat website showcasing all of their previous games: http://www.zee-3.com/pickfordbros/ .

The soundtrack was composed by Tim and Geoff Follin. The level themes are long and exploratory and resemble a jam session before looping back around.

One amazing thing about this game's soundtrack is that every song except for the title theme uses only 5 of the SPC700's 8 channels. This is not uncommon (a channel or two are sometimes left open for sound effects), but it is an accomplishment to do so and still have such complex-sounding background music. In fact, the Follins used several sampled chords so that one channel could play three notes at once, and they make heavy use of these samples. The whole thing is absolutely brilliant, and while others have fit songs into less channels, no one before or since has used the SNES's sound hardware as proficiently as the Follin brothers.

Of course, Tim Follin was a well-known composer for the C64, Amiga, Spectrum and other computer platforms from the 80's.
