In memory of Ashish Sharma.
Emory predicts sepsis outbreaks with Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence and machine learning tools. About 250,000 Americans die from sepsis every year, but it’s possible to save lives by predicting the disease early and putting patients on antibiotics. Although previous algorithms to detect sepsis have had a fairly low performance, the university’s biomedical informatics team has been able to greatly improve the accuracy and complexity of their models using Google Cloud.
