Google Home and tp-link Smart Light Switch review | Unboxing, installation and setup
How to install the tp-link smart light switch and how to link it to your Google Home or Google Home Mini. I especially cover three areas where you could have issues with the installation:
1. Your house needs to have a white (NEUTRAL) wire in the existing light switch box. Some older houses do not have a neutral wire going to every light switch box.
2. The GROUND might be difficult to connect if it was screwed by the electrician way back in the switch box. But unlike the neutral, you don't have to connect the ground wire.
3. If you are replacing an existing light switch with this smart switch, the standard electrical boxes are not very deep. You may need to be creative to push the wires aside and in the back to make room for the tp-link smart switch. If you have a deep box or a double switch box, then the installation will be much easier.
Once the switches are installed, not only can you program them with the Kasa app on your phone, but you can also control your lights verbally if you have a Google Home or Google Home mini.
