1. Update Google Maps
An outdated version of Google Maps may cause performance issues. To update, open the App Store. Find Google Maps and tap "Update" (if available).
2. Enable Location Services
Google Maps needs location access to work properly.
Inside the Settings app, scroll to and select "Google Maps". If you don't see it right away, select "Apps" and you should find it listed.
Tap on "Location" at the top of the page. Here, ensure 'Allow Location Access' is set it to "While Using the App".
If you constantly share your live location, ensure you set it to "Always". For better accuracy, toggle on "Precise Location".
Under the Google Maps menu, also ensure that the "Cellular Data" toggle is enabled. If not, you'll be limited to using only Wi-Fi, which may not always be available.
3. Reinstall Facebook Messenger
If any of the above solutions don’t help, try reinstalling the app. This should be a last resort.
Step 1: Press and hold the Google Maps app on the home screen. Tap "Remove App". Confirm your choice by tapping on “Delete App” from the prompt that appears.
